PSP 2 IN 2009: A new report reveals that Sony's PSP 2 is expected to release before Christmas.

Pocket Gamer reports that Sony's next version of the PSP is expected to release before the end of this year. The hotly-anticipated PSP 2 is said to feature a number of upgrades and enhancements to their current handheld system. This news about the PSP 2 coming soon is hot on the heels of the release of Nintendo's new DS, the DSi.
According to the article, the PSP 2 will feature dual analog sticks, something current PSP owners have been clamoring for, and a larger screen that slides and doubles as a touch screen similar to the Nintendo DS.
This report on the new PSP's release is still unconfirmed by Sony at this time.

i agree, that is a slick looking handheld, if in fact thats the way it looks. I have been buying up a few psp titles that I didn't get at full price. PSP got some good games. PSP doesn't have games coming out every week like the DS but the ones it does have are really good.

I bet you sony would shoot down these rumors that could be very very true.. Ill just wait til E3, for everything sony.. PSp2 release date, God of war 3 release date and or MGS5 Anybody?? we'll see..

I think that is an artist's rendition, but I hope I'm wrong. Cause I would completely buy a psp if that is the new design. Though I have honestly been considering one for a while. And this might finally give me reason to get one.

If it does come out this year, it'll probably come out in japan first. Then we'd get it like next year first or second quarter.
