Assassin's Creed 2 teaser site goes live

Don't go on a date with one of these attached...

Ubisoft has launched a teaser site for Assassin's Creed 2, with a few nifty hidden features. The opening movie shows some da Vinci-esque drawings, including one of a human skeleton with the deadly hidden knife weapon (see above) that Altair used in the original game.

Additionally, thanks to a Joystiq tipster it's been revealed that you can pull up some cool 3-D models of the knife attachment by printing out the symbol at the end of the teaser trailer and holding it up to a webcam while on the site. The site doesn't offer a whole lot else, but we'll keep checking to see when it gets updated.

THE VERDICT by Andy Burt Andy Burt's Avatar Teaser sites are cool and all, but we're waiting for some real juicy info to come in on Assassin's Creed 2. Until then, we'll just have to keep playing with our webcams. Wait... I mean, no, we aren't into that, really, I swear.

i loved the first one. You guys that didnt finish it are missing out on a crazy twist ending. I cant wait for this one. My original theory on how this one was going to play out was that now we would be the present guy using guns instead of Altair using knives.

Didn't like the first one at all... it didn't even have time to get repetetive for me. Every time you start running, guards come after you and start attacking you... WTF?!? Is running illegal? I have to walk everywhere? Same with the horse, you can't run. That game is just retarted. I played for 3-4 hours, and the only fun I had was soft-pushing my way around a crowd for like 5 minutes. The storyline was amazing, but the execution was terrible. Some of the worst combat I've ever seen... Even Spiderman3 Wii aka wiggle-fest was more fun. Too bad, because the story was really cool, and I really wanted to see where it was going. Maybe the next one will be more like MGS4... because I wouldn't mind watching AC2.

I started thinking about repetetiveness and which games it plauged. I started playing Gears of War... shoot the bad guy, collect ammo, swap out new guns, finish the game. Then i played Call of Duty... Shoot the bad guy, collect ammo, swap out new guns, finish the game. Now Resident evil 5... shoot the bad guy, collect ammo, swap out new guns, finish the game..... Wow, looks like the games we love and praise, and brag about are all repetetive. I actually enjoyed Assassins Creed. It takes patience to play. Not one of those go out running around all over the place killing people and causing a riot. If you dont have patience, don't play this game. Go back to the other repetetive games where you can run amuck.

Does the game include a special rebate if you bought the first one (I think I deserve an apology for wasting $60)? Doing the same four missions 9 times does not equal fun. Not to mention the stupid storyline about DNA containing memory. Or the fact that you could not be creative in how you assassinate someone... everything being preset does not equal a sandbox play. At least it was pretty to look at?
