Silent Hill: Shattered Memories announced for Wii

NEW SILENT HILL Wii: A re-imagining of the original PlayStation survival-horror classic, Silent Hill, is coming to the Nintendo Wii.
GoNintendo reports that the rumors about a Silent Hill remake coming to the Nintendo Wii are true. Titled Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the new Silent Hill video game's announcement comes from the latest issue of Nintendo Power Magazine.
Joystiq has also just reported that since this new game announcement is hitting today, April Fools Day, they've confirmed with Nintendo Power that this is real and is not a joke of any kind.
Woo! The first Silent Hill was the best game in the series (okay, Silent Hill 2 was pretty rad too) and if Shattered Memories is anywhere as good as the Resident Evil remake released on GameCube (and coming later to Wii), we're in for another great SH game.

I've never played a SH game before. Nice opportunity for me to try it out.

Now they just need to make Silent Hill 2 on a next gen system like the 360 or the PS3 with Alan Wake type graphics!! That would be sick!! I love Silent Hill 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like how wiiboys like to spin the "heated leftovers " as a opportunity to play a old game. It will just be a port of a 10yr. old game but with motion control. They ported Dreamcast games so why not dig deeper in the bin for PS1 games.

THUNDER.. Do you always have to start something? My god all he said was he wanted to try the damn game out. And it's not just a port by the way.
Anyway, looks good. Between this, Cursed Mountain, Fatal Frame 4, RE4, Sadness, survival horror is becoming pretty well repressented on Wii.

God I hope it can wash the bad taste that Silent HIll:Homecoming left in my mouth... the game does not belong in the hands of a western developer. It lost all of it's creepiness and the overall feeling of isolationism.
