Final Fantasy XIII to use "nearly 100%" of PS3's power

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase tells Japanese press that FFXIII will push the limits of the PS3, but will require no disc-swapping.

Final Fantasy XIII to use 'nearly 100%' of PS3's power

In talking with Japanese publication Dengeki, Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase commented on the demo to be bundled with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children in Japan, and how the full game will use even more of the PS3's processing power. From Dengeki:

Doesn't the demo use about 50 percent of its power? Of course, I think the retail version will make use of nearly 100 percent.

Kitase also noted in the interview that amount of power Final Fantasy XIII will utilize on the PS3 is similar to how Final Fantasy VII pushed the PS, and Final Fantasy X pushed the PS2.

Kitase makes no mention of the Xbox 360 version in the interview, as to whether or not the 360 version will be a multi-disc release, or if Square Enix will need to make adjustments to the game itself to comply with the 360's graphical capablities.

How much better, if at all, will the PS3 version of FF13 (using "nearly 100%" of it's power) look when compaired to the 360's? I'm curious to see what the end results will be.

"the verdict" must be in denile about the ps3's graphic card because it is clearly way weaker than the 360's. The article talks about the ps3's "prossesing power" being pushed in the game, wich is stronger than the 360's.

Anyways, I love FF games but I am getting pissed at SE for taking so long. The perfect ending in this for me is that the game comes out this year and is bad ass but Square sells under a million copies and it cripples them and they learn the valuable lesson not to toy with us and use their resources to develop 15 crappy titles when they could have channeled that energy into completing 13 in a timely manner.
