This Thursday, March 26th, Resistance 2 owners will be able to download a new patch (version 1.50) that will address some bugs as well as add a new multiplayer mode called Meltdown (itself a throwback to a popular multiplayer mode in Resistance: Fall of Man). Additionally, a new $5.99 expansion pack called Aftermatch will add new multiplayer maps that are described as being smaller and more intimate. You'll also be able to pimp out your character with new downloadable skins at $0.99 a pop.

Resistance 2 scored four out of five stars from GamePro in its review.

THE VERDICT by Sid Shuman Sid Shuman's Avatar

After feeling somewhat left down by Resistance 2, I can only hope the upcoming patch and DLC re-ignite my passion for the game. I'll just say that I hope that patch really fixes a lot of things...

I thought R2 was amazing... but the online probably dipped in popularity when Killzone 2 dropped, so now they want people to come back to R2. Havin a blast on Killzone, but maybe I'll try R2 again and see what's going on over there.

Killzone 2 is yesterdays news. The story is so silly it doesn't warrant a 2nd play though for me.
The controls are still bad too. At least Resistance controlled flawlessly.

KZ2's campaign was great, not necessarily the story, but graphics and gameplay are awesome. I do agree that R2 had slightly better controls, but I don't mind KZ2's controls... I pretty much always shoot from the hip, so it's allright. Killzone 2's online is Amazing and very addictive... I love how they have it switch from one mode to another (Team Deathmatch to Protect your pillars for example) on the fly like that. And the progression for your online KZ2 character is very well made, so Killzone 2 ONLINE MULTIPLAYER is definitely not yesterday's news. For the record, I did prefer R2's campaign.

How bout letting 2nd player load their own damn profile, and thus save their progress for the co-op campaign (a la LittleBigPlanet). I don't understand, WHY IS THAT SO HARD?!!!

You're completely retarted if you think R2> KZ2. Either that or you haven't played it. But then you said that it was KZ's story ( which was still better than R2's) that made you not go back to the campaign. So you're telling me that the story is the sole reason you play campaigns is for the story. Yeah, you're retarted. Plus KZ2's MP is superior. But, don't think I'm saying Resistance is bad, I'm just completely addicted to Killzone 2.

Resistance 2 online mutiplayer aint for me, not cause I'm not good. I come first in a 60 team death match with 107 kills but it's just all run and gun. I stick to CoD4. CoD5 aint all that great , I get disconnected a lot more then any other game. I want to try KZ2, heard it was good.

how bout some damn offline coop? You guys did it in the last game, why not now?! And games should start allowing split screen online. Like haze or Warhawk or Halo.

You know Resistance 2 does have online spit screen for Co-op and Competitive???
And there is offline Co-op, unless your talking about the campaign....
