Nintendo's new sexy handheld is selling like hotcakes in Japan, topping the 2 million mark in just under five months.
Since its launch five months ago, the Nintendo DSi has sold roughly 14,000 units per day in Japan. The sales could be equated to the inclusion of many new features offered in Nintendo's latest iteration of the popular handheld, but it goes without saying that Japan just loves the DS. Though the U.S. has had it's fair share of warnings of DSi shortages when it launches this April, we'll have to see if DSi-mania in the states will match that of Japan.

Nevermind, I remember. I don't understand why people are excited for this. It's a DS with 2 0.3 megapixel cameras? How bad is that going to be? Maybe it was wrong on Wiki, but that is what I just read. I also thing not having the GBA slot blows. I don't get it, you get 2 cameras, and lose the GBA slot? What do you need cameras for on it? That is dumb.

If Wiki says that it is wrong. It also comes with an SD card slot and will have a service similar to Wii ware. Screens are ever so slightly bigger also. It gets a camera because Nintendo is comfortable doing that. Just look back at how many systems they had them on. Its surprising that they do not have one on Wii.
You pay 50.00 more than you would for a DS lite for the cameras, screens, download service, etc. I'll stick to my DS lite.

The DSi has a cameralens in the back and in the front... to allow you to take pics of people in front of you, and pics of yourself while looking at the screen (for the preview of your pic). You can strech the image and doodle on it before or after the pic is taken. The DSi also has music and video playback with all kinds of cool filters... you can listen to any track as if it was an 8-bit game... It also has SD card slots to let you download apps and VC games... screens are slightly bigger, and both screens are touch screen.
