Wii wins Feb sales, Wii Fit, Street Fighter top games

The February 2009 sales figures have been released, and as usual, Nintendo's at the top.

Kotaku is reporting that NPD has released its sales figures for the month of February 2009. As they've been doing just about every month, Nintendo has topped both the hardware and software charts. The Wii and DS stood as the number one and two selling systems, respectively, followed by the Xbox 360, with Sony bringing up the rear with the PlayStation 3, PSP, and PS2 respectively.

I think I'm in love with the female Wii Fit trainer. There, I said it. Man, that feels good.

On the software side, Wii Fit claimed another month at the top as the top selling single-console game, though Street Fighter IV sold more copies when the game's multiple console releases were combined. Killzone 2, despite coming out the day before the end of February, sold well enough to rank fourth, slightly below the unstoppable force known as Wii Play. The hardware and software rankings are below.

7- Call of Duty: World at War (360) - 193,000
8- Mario Kart DS (DS) - 145,000
9- New Super Mario Bros. (DS) - 144,000
10- Guitar Hero World Tour (Wii) - 136,000

Ok, Wii Fit is a good game. But enough is enough. I'd love to see some new games top these charts. It's the best way to convince them to make new games, y'know.

Hey, if I haven't played it, it's new to me. I think the millions of the other new Wii Fit owners would agree with me.

Wii Fit is fun if you are motivated and disciplined enough to stick with it. I wasn't because to me it kind of felt like a chore, like I HAD to use it. If I had a dedicated room where it could be out all the time, I would use it more often.

I just bought my 360 last month so I'm glad I supported the cause. Of course, as we all know, nobody is going to cetch up to Nintendo. But the battle for second is no longer as close as it once was.

damm nintendo is still mopping the floors wit the other consoles... so much for the wii being a fad.. and what about killzone being in the place that its in you would expect it to be higher in sales since its the badass game every ps3 fan has been waiting for..

I cannot believe mario kart for DS and new super mario bros for Ds too, are in the list of the most selling games list of february 2009!!!!!!!!!!!! those games are like from 2006 or older!!!!!!! no wonder nintendo releases a new really good game that everyone wants, every 5 years or so, I mean yeah, wii fit is good, mario kart wii, but I mean in that system and in those series, they haven't release anything else!!! by the way, where's the new zelda for the wii??? kid icarus???? eternal darkness 2????? AND PLEASE, IF YOU RELEASE A PIKIMIN GAME, OR OTHER OF YOUR LICENSES ON THE WII, MAKE A NEW AND IMPROVED GAME!!!!! STOP PORTING GAMES FROM THE PAST AND FROM OTHER CONSOLES!!!!!!!!... I really cannot believe that those games are still selling so well.... W-O-W

Considerin KZ2 only had 2 days in Feb..thats not a bad number..btw..wheres Madworld?? i thought the Wii had some 'hardcore' gamers lmao..Rock on kiddies..and Grannys!! hahahahahahaha

The wii is garbage as far as games are concerned,i haven't played mine in almost a year.The wii is just a gimmick.360 AND PS3 IS THE WAY TO GO!
