Majesco trademarks Crafting Mama

Majesco's going to launch the first spin-off of their ridiculously successful Cooking Mama series, Gardening Mama, at the end of this month. Even though it has yet to ship to stores, it looks like Majesco's already got another Mama spinoff in the works. Earlier this week some digging in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's database revealed that Majesco had earlier this month registered the trademark for Crafting Mama. The trademark applies to basically anything related to video games.

It's not hard to imagine what a Crafting Mama game would play like, and to be honest, I'm plenty happy to see that Majesco is willing to keep trying new themes to keep the franchise fresh without diluting one bit of its little girl appeal. The DS and Wii are lousy with great games for little boys, but good games for little girls about genuinely girly things are pretty rare. It helps that Majesco's efforts with Mama are usually good enough to please us former little girls, too.
