New PS3 bundle to include Resistance & MotorStorm

Stores are receiving new PS3 bundles that include MotorStorm, Resistance, and an 80GB hard drive, to be sold for $399 at the end of the month.

If you've been hemming and hawing about purchasing a PlayStation 3, you might want to stow away your bag of cash until the end of the month. Joystiq is reporting that Target stores are receiving a new bundle, that will be going on sale on March 29. The bundle, which will retail for $399, will include an 80GB PS3, as well as two games from the system's "Greatest Hits" line--MotorStorm and Resistance: Fall of Man.

New PS3 bundle to include Resistance & MotorStorm

Still one of the best looking PS3 games.

While this doesn't represent a price drop for Sony's HD console, the new bundle does offer greater value than the current $399 80GB model, which does not include any games. The $499 160GB model currently comes with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Both MotorStorm and Resistance received 4.5 scores and editors choice awards upon their release in November 2006 and March 2007, respectively.

THE VERDICT by Dave Rudden Dave Rudden's Avatar

Normally I'd diss this deal for having two titles that have already been sequelized, but I paid $60 for each of those games. And $600 for the PS3. Man, I'm a sucker.

WTF is Sony doing to it's loyal install base... right now Sony is to the video game industry what the Republicans are to the current political CLIMATE, absurd! Dave Rudden makes a good point. BTW, FIRST!

Still holding on to not selliing a PS3 below $399. This is a good deal but people will still see a $400 price tag.

the deal may be OKAY, but those games are not exactly the right games to show off WHY anyone would spend $400 on a console. Try MGS4 and Killzone 2 bundle. Hey guys I just blew $400 on a console, lets look at the superior cell processor at work.....pops in resistance and it's muddy textures.

To me this is the same as buying the current 80 gig model for $400 since I don't want either of these games. Not an incentive for me. I'd rather pay less and get no games.

I hear ya dave. I paid the same $600 for my ps3 and $60 a piece for those games. If only I could go back in time and know the future...
