BioWare officially announces Mass Effect 2 for 2010

Though we've heard leaks and seen trailers, BioWare made it official today. They are making Mass Effect 2, and it's not coming this year.

While the game has been on the tongues of many gamers for months, due to the recently released trailer as well as the upcoming level-building seminar at next week's Game Developer's conference, BioWare made the existence of Mass Effect 2 official with a press release this morning. In the announcement, the company confirmed an Early 2010 release date, echoing the words of EA's CEO, John Riccitiello, who revealed as much last month in an earnings report.

It's worth the wait. i still haven't unlocked all the achievements from the first game yet so now I'll have plenty of time to do so.

I wish we could get Mass Effect on PS3, even if it's a year later like they did with Bioshock... but it would be nice to get part 2 multi-platform release :))))

I still can´t believe they are still forgetting the PS3. It´s EA!!! They are planning to release games even on the iPhone!!! (Need for Speed)

me too I still need to finish the game for the 3rd and 4th time.

great news. I wonder if ME2 will see the light on the ps3....I mean Bioware is an EA company.

There is no way that they expect us to beleive Shepard (the main character) is dead when the main point of the first game is to upgrade him for the next two games. he's probably MIA, not KIA.

This has been expected for a while based on how well the first game sold. As for the ps3 version, it will come out eventually. However, since Microsoft helped publish the first game they will probably get a cut of the ps3 version.
