Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 revealed for PS3

Get ready to litter the world with gushing severed limbs in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 only for PlayStation 3 (and CLICK HERE for more screens of Ninja Gaiden II)!

Japanese video game magazine Famitsu reveals in a recent issue that Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, an enhanced PS3-exclusive version of last year's Ninja Gaiden II for Xbox 360, is coming to Sony's console.

Scheduled for an Autumn 2009 release on PlayStation 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is an upgraded version of Team Ninja's hack and slash action sequel, with brand-new features added making it more than a direct port, just like the original Ninja Gaiden Sigma released on PS3, which included improved graphical detail, new enemies, and dual katanas (Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang).

In a translation provided by GameTrailers' forum member n3gat1vezero, the new features in Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 will include:

  • A new spiked hammer weapon called a "Genma."
  • New giant boss battles not featured in the Xbox 360 version.
  • Ayane, a playable female character

    THE VERDICT by Patrick Shaw Patrick Shaw's Avatar Well, it's not a brand-new game, but it's better than waiting for Ninja Gaiden III. I hope the translation found on GT's forums is correct too because a spiked hammer weapon sounds awesome.

    Ninja Gaiden Sigma was a challenging game and awesome game. I heard Itagaki had problems with this game's development due to Tecmo's policies. I hope it's as good as the first one.

    Though, I am glad Tecmo is not charging us $5 dollars for this new content by releasing it as dlc.

    I beat the original for xbox couldn't find all fifty scarabs I wish I could got sigma for ps3 and couldn't get out the cave In time and am ready for this one I love the ninja gaiden series all the way back to the new days I wish Sony would quit letting 360 get the jump on these dam games and charging full price for a year old game cause it ain't no new game new features yeh new game not

    I think its cool ps3 owners are getting an enhanced version of Ninja Gaiden 2. it's a shame though 360 owners won't be getting it. but then again it doesn't matter atleast there's the 360 exclusive Ninja blade coming out either this month or next month. that's one ninja game i'm looking forward to. Oh! and then there's the ps2 exclusive Naruto Shippuuden Ultimate ninja 4.

    The 360 version wasn't all too much to get excited over,so IDK how this game will fare on PS3. Nevermind this game, I want a flawless version of the Ninja Gaiden arcade game . Somebody has to make this game in this generation,because the version on the Atari Lynx was not very faithfully reproduced.

    *lol* Wow it looks like the rest of Team Ninja is Desperate to make a video game since there leader left them...And it looks like they have no imagination without him because they are making yet another remake?? Tsk Tsk....Oh well I'll probably still get it for the new weapon new boss battle and new playable character....I've already beat the game 11 times on my 360....I have 930 points worth of achievements in it.......So this will be a breeze.....
