NEW RESIDENT EVIL ON WII: Capcom announces a sequel to their on-rails/light-gun shooter, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, called Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles.
Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles 2 is coming to the Wii! (CLICK HERE for more screens of the first game!)
Just two days before Resident Evil 5 hits the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Capcom has just announced that a brand new Resident Evil video game is currently in development that is exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The new Resident Evil for the Wii, called Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, is a sequel to 2007's on-rails/light-gun shooter Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, which received favorable reviews from game critics, including GamePro who gave the game 4 out of 5 stars in our review.
Some details have surfaced on the upcoming Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, including the reason it's not called Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles 2. This is due to the fact that the Umbrella Corporation is no longer the enemy.
If you remember the previous game, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, you'll recall that you played through the events of Resident Evil Zero, the original Resident Evil, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, notably skipping over Resident Evil 2. The good news is that in Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles you will play through the events in Resident Evil 2. Other Resident Evil games are also promised to be included, likely Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica because they are some of the only RE games left not featured in The Umbrella Chronicles.
Check back here at GamePro for more details on Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles.

Didn't get to play the first one but like you said above I heard nothing but good things about it. I'd like to see another game like Dead Aim. That was nice as you went after the guy who was responsible for the Racoon city event. Plus the whole idea of being on a cruise ship in the beginning really gave you the feel of isolation. I miss that in the RE games.

In RE:UC, the headshots have to be ridiculously precise for them to work, even if you shoot them right in the forehead, if it's not exactly on the sweet spot your bullet doesn't even count, they don't flinch. HOPE this next RE is better, but honestly, try HotD: Overkill, WAY better!

I love both House of the Dead and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, but I thought Umbrella delivered a much better light-gun game experience than the HotD games.

Not a big news for me. The first one was boring and that's just my opinion. House of the Dead is way better and again, it's just my opinion...

I borrowed RE:UC and had to force myself to at least play an hour to give it a good chance, but I didn't like it, never played it again. I also borrowed HotD: Overkill and couldn't put it down, I litteraly finished it in one sitting. I have a feeling that RE:UC probably has more depth and replay value perhaps, but Overkill was just tons of fun... especially the Carny level where you kill a bunch of clowns :)

@toneman
I'm a huge fan of the HOTD. I have the first set of games for the wii and I probably have spent tons of money on them in the arcade. Finished all in the arcades except for 3, and I was the first person to finish 4 at the place I usually go to ( sad I know lol ). Overkill is most def on my list of games to get.

I really didn't like RE:UC because it had the worst boss battles and annoying controls. And it skipped over RE2 for no reason at all, and that's my favorite game in the series! It was just a lousy game in general, so I'm hoping that they will fix it up for the sequel.
