Capcom's upcoming shooter has recently received its own dedicated website, and with it, a trailer and plenty of mystery.
With Street Fighter IV releasing last month, Resident Evil 5 coming out this week, and Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 both being announced, Dark Void, Capcom's lone original IP heading to retail this year, has been out of the limelight in recent weeks. It's a bit of a shame, as we've loved what we've seen thus far in our two extensive previews (check them out here and here). It seems like attention will finally be paid to the action shooter/arcade flight game, which mixes Gears of War with Ace Combat, as Kotaku pointed out that a website has just been unleashed on the interwebs at DarkVoidGame.com.

Like any game website worth its salt, Dark Void's mixes cool new content (an all new trailer, shown below) with plenty of infuriatingly cryptic viral clues. The new trailer shows brief snippets of gameplay that mix brutal combat and flight. After the video concludes, you're offered an opportunity to sign up for an email newsletter, which can be skipped. If you do choose to sign up, you get a reply entitled "Welcome to the battle!" with the message text "Our attempts to reach the outside have begun to bear fruit, you are among the first to respond. We promise nothing and expect everything from those that join us in our struggle. We will make contact with you as soon as we can, until then hold us in your heart and thoughts. United, we will RISE UP!"
If you choose to skip the email, there's still plenty of mystery to be found on the site proper. After the trailer and email offer, a splash page appears with the message "Coming Soon." If you remain on the page, a series of symbols will appear on the bottom of the page while the message on the top of the page briefly blurs so that it almost reads "Number Three." At this point, we're completely in the dark about what these clues point to, but you can bet Capcom will make the mystery clearer as time passes. Bit by excruciating bit. Dark Void is due out on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, with no specified date or release window.
The mysterious morphing words.
The mysteriouser morhphing symbols.

Where is the Cryptic Message that Gamepro just got into bed with Microsoft to develop downloadable games (as read on G4tv.com) Gamepro should be ashamed of themselves...sellouts. No more unbiased opinions...not that there ever were.
