Sony hints at new "Game Machine"

Apparently Sony Japan is looking to hire someone to test out their new equipment that is likely a new handheld to follow in the steps of the PSP.

Sony hints at new 'Game Machine'

PSP 2 gets serious

Although it kind of makes sense, who would have thought of looking at a job listing in order to find out some new information about a gaming system? Right now, SCE Japan is on the hunt for someone to be an "evaluator/assessor."

What will this person be doing? Testing out a new gaming system of some sort as well as getting to "be part of an advisory staff that will play PlayStation series software on this new machine and check its functionality." Not only that, but they will "test game machines not yet released or new functionality of PS3 peripherals before they are released."

Enough about the job, what is it exactly that's being tested? While it isn't clear yet, Sony has stated that this test subject will be "part of the PlayStation or PSP series and their peripherals." A new PSP 4000 maybe? Or could it be a new handheld in general? It could possibly be a new console, but that'd be unlikely seeing as how the PS3 is still somewhat new.

Either way, I'm wishing I lived in Japan right now just to get a crack at a job like this! If they ever need a foreign opinion, let it be known that I'm willing to move and give up everything for the sake of good gaming.

They have money for a new machine? LOL

Why not? Sega still did even after the Sega CD, 32X and Saturn all flopped..

I am done with handhelds of any kind since I just don't have time for them but I guess this is good news. I only hope that nobody releases a new console anytime soon. I don't need to be spending that kind of money for the next couple of years.

It's not PS4...that would really make them go in the tank...take your time on the next one Sony. I love PS3 but you gotta get something out of this generation.

See that is where you are wrong dick. It's cute of you to try and take a shot at Sega to defend Sony. But Sega didn't have the money, hence they went bye bye. It was a lost shot desperation by Sega, and it didn't work. Dreamcast was great, but Sega made way to many mistakes. Hopefully Sony learned from Sega's mistakes.

SO, will a be another take on the PSP, or will we finaly see the PSP2 (hopefully with dual analog controls).

lol how am I taking a shot at Sega?? And how am I wrong for that matter? I'm merely stating fact. Sega screwed up how many times? The Sega CD, The 32X, The Saturn, The Neptune, The Nomad, The Game Gear and The Dreamcast (were the Neptune and Nomad even made? Oh well whatever). It took 7 failures to finally knock Sega out of the hardware business. Unless Sony foolishly banked absolutely everything they had on the PS3, which I highly doubt, they'll be around next gen for another go.
