CONFIRMED: God of War III is coming out this year

BREAKING: Sony confirms that the third video game in their immensely popular action series, God of War III, will by released on PS3 in 2009.
In a new SCEA press release about the release of Killzone 2 on PlayStation 3 next week, Sony confirms that God of War III will be released this year. This news about God of War III's 2009 release date comes hot on the heels of the new God of War III: Fear Nothing trailer that revealed Kratos slaughtering in real-time, and the unveiling GoWIII's vicious cast of enemies, new weapons, and killer special moves (You can read the FULL 8-PAGE PREVIEW on GamePro that's heaping with new God of War III info.
Sony announces in the press release that they have,
...an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show.

This is the best news I've heard in months. I can't wait to experience God of War III's new epic boss battles (especially against the gladiatorial spiked armor-wearing Hades).

As epic as the first 2 games are... I think my favorite part in each one has to be the opening level... Just feels like they throw you right into the action... so I'm really anxious to see how this new game will start... and I hope there's variety in the levels too. Either way I'm sure it'll be great. Can't Wait!

This by far is the year of the ps3 (2009). I know a lot of 360 fanboys wanting to buy a ps3 just for this game, sooo I'm expecting better sales for the ps3!!! long live sony!!

Every year is "The Year Of The Playstation 3" according to this website and all the fanboys who troll here!!! And every game that comes out for the PS3 is the biggest game of the year and is going to magically propell this last place console to the number one position!! Give it up!!! This game will come out and be forgotten in a week....

this is the news that we need to hear as gamers (not fanboys mind you).this does seem to be the boost the ps3 needs.it might not put them in third but it will help garner alot of sales do to some big games hitting this year.

Heh I'll believe it when I see it. I smell a delay in the coming months for this title, but I do hope I'm wrong on this one. GOW3 in 2009 is mighty sexy, 1080i on my 42" HDTV = wets himself.

If you could make a great cross over battle using God Of War's Kratos verses anybody from any other franchise videogame whom would it be?Me I would love to see Kratos verses Scorpion from THE MK serie!!That would be so awesome!!
