Virtua Tennis coming to the Wii

According to recent reports, Sega will be bringing its critically-acclaimed Virtua Tennis series to the Nintendo Wii.

IGN is reporting that Sega will be bringing the recently-announced Virtua Tennis 2009 to the Wii this May. While the company revealed earlier this month that the famed tennis franchise was getting a sequel on the HD consoles, they apparently saved the Wii for a separate announcement. IGN recieved word from Sega of America's Vice President of Marketing Sean Ratcliffe, who said "The Virtua Tennis series is perfect for the Wii platform. Sega is excited to be able to bring this uniquely interactive experience to Wii."

Picture this with more motion control and less definition. Then you've got Wii Virtua Tennis.

Sega previously released a mascot-filled version of yellow ball called Sega Superstars Tennis, which received average reviews slightly below the more respected Virtua Tennis series. We'll see if an all-human cast will lead to better gameplay in just a few months. You can check out the full reveal on IGN.com

Smart move, Sega. In my opinion, Nintendo's dropping the ball (pun intended) by not creating a new tennis game to capitalize on Wii Sports Tennis. No, the reheated Mario Power Tennis doesn't count.

As much as I want to play this, I can barely beat the computer in Tennis on Wii Sports, lol.

So because you'll have to do more than push a button to hit the ball, it's gimmicky? And who cares if it's graphically inferior to the 260 and Wii versions. All that matters is that it's fun to play. Hopefully it will be fun to play.

To the guy who wrote "Picture this with more motion control and less definition. Then you've got Wii Virtua Tennis." below the picture of Virtua Tennis, what a sissy!!!!!! If they made Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube, they can EASILY make this game on the Wii, and don't tell me they can't because RE4 still looks AWESOME, and this game just don't have that much amount of characters, scenarios, effects, etc etc and a big long etcetera... I really hate fanboys, they are only dedicated to make stupid commentaries like the Virtua Tennis one. I really like all the consoles, and just don't understand why people keep crying like they are 5-year-old kids "boo-hoo the red ring of death, the PS3 doesn't have games, the Wii is for stupid kids, DS is crap, PSP is just plain stupid". C'mon! Stop crying and play! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY cares about your stupid thoughts, believe, no one does. So keep them to yourself, convince yourself that everything in the world is crap except what you buy, think and do, but keep the rest of us, the people who enjoy life, without YOU. Thanks, peace!!!!!!!

Yeah, I think it's BS that Nitendo is not making a new Mario Tennis game... but then again, the new Mario Baseball game didn't turn out too good, so maybe we're better off with a 30$ port of the GC game (which was fantastic).
