Square trying to buy Eidos

With Eidos' future in question, Square Enix is making a move to snag the British developer in a big power play.
It's true, Eidos has seen some better days. But while the developer's admitted that sales haven't been great lately, they may be under new ownership. Enter Square Enix.

According to everyone from SiliconEra to Eurogamer, Square Enix is going to add Eidos to its stable of mounted development studio heads with a jaw-dropping offer of $120 MILLION (or about 84 million British dollars). Holy s*** on a f*** sandwich. That's over 100 percent more than the company's even worth.
Of course, this isn't the first time that Square's waved money in front of Eidos' starving shareholders, but why rush now? Well, if the deal goes through, that means Square gets Tomb Raider, Hitman, and... Backyard Wrestling.
Hmm. Maybe Square should pocket that money until the economy improves. Or try putting more funding into hurrying the Hell up with Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX. Yeah, remember those games, Square Enix? BOTH DELAYED, RIGHT?!

84 million "British dollars"?! Great God, have gamepro readers become so dumb that they wouldn't know what the pound is?
Well, maybe E.A. will do a better job with the Croft series. Being one of the largest video-game companies in the world, they certainly know how to use silicon...

I can't wait to see what the next Hitman game is gonna look like! I hope the movie didn't do well, and that the next Hitman game won't be a movie based game.

...Why.
Deus Ex...Well I see some connections firing off there, and maybe Hitman. Fear Effect might get another shot at life.

It's a good move for Eidos but Square Enix is just throwing their money away. Plus, I doubt the Tomb Raider series will get any better. If nothing else Lara will now have to start fighting magic fairies and air pirates. Thats not cool.

Eidos worked w/ Square in the past. They released FF7 and FF8 for them on the PC.
