The wait finally over -- Killzone 2 is here. GameGirl.com got a chance to sit down with the demo on Thursday, and was pretty blown away by it.
The first thing I noticed was how different the game felt from any other FPS I have played in the past. The physics are impressive. My gun actually felt like it had weight to it. Turning and aiming have a tiny lag to them like they would in real life. Slammed into the heat of battle against the Helghast on their home world, suddenly I was very aware of where I was aiming. In a game like Call of Duty, one could get away with shooting a little bit to the right or left and still hit their mark. It's hard to articulate how the difference feels until you have the controller in your hands. I liked this change of pace; it feels like I was provided with an actual challenge instead of having the game aim for me. The AI is sufficiently decent, at one point while trying to destroy a bridge I was surprised attack from all sides. It made for an interesting gaming experience not plagued by stupid opponents.
Now, how does it look? While graphics aren't essential to gameplay, this game is beautiful in motion. How does it compare to the trailer released back at E3 2005 that astounded gamers? Well in this girl's opinion, Guerrilla has certainly surpassed it. Probably my favorite aspect is the color pallet chosen for the demo's beach level. Everything is mute, but in soft shades of blues with contrasting reds. It's a breath of fresh air from the brown, brown, and more brown of other games. Certain details were a nice added touch, like how you can watch blood from a fallen enemy dry and turn to disgusting brown right in front of your eyes. The faces and voice acting of your comrades is excellently executed, and definitely makes for a great experience.
Not too much more the can be commented on with a demo as short as this one. While first person shooters usually aren't really my fort?, giving this game a shot was well worth it. Killzone 2 is something I believe actually does live up to the hype. It's challenging, looks good in motion, and most importantly it's fun.
The Killzone 2 demo is available for download on the PlayStation Network to those that pre-ordered the game from GameStop. A public demo will be made available on February 26, a day before the shooter arrives in stores.

I pre-ordered online at GameStop.com 3 days ago and never received my Demo Code so I just cancelled the Pre-Order 5 minutes ago. I'm not paying $70 to not have the Demo.

Like the Aim doesnt move around like as fast as in other shooters, its more lifelike in that you wouldnt more the gun from point A to point B in a 10th of a second. i noticed the overcompensation more that Humans do in real life, like When you get to the point you want to stop at you go over it a little bit and then have to correct yourself.
Generally the guns feel like they are moving slower and more lifelike then in other FPSs and that everything you do feels like it has Weight.
And this is coming from a Guy who has played it since you seem so concerned about that.

Like u do kno anything about guns? Ur probably just a fatass low life and pissed at chix because none of them like u. And girls cant like games now? You are the biggest stereotypical bastard. Your stupid comment didn't make anyone laugh so don't say LOL.
Anyway, i was disappointed with the demo. It was fun and all, but everyones been hyped up for months for a fraction of a level? I still cant wait but that was disappointing.

I thought the game looks better than any FPS I have seen recently. It handled real well. Only thing I was dissappointed with was the length of the demo. So much hype for that little demo? They should've added the online also. Anyway, can't wait to get my hands on the game.
