PS3 requires 5 gig install to play RE5

Capcom announced today that PS3 owners will be required to install 5 gigs of data to play Resident Evil 5. Xbox 360 owners, on the other hand, need not worry.
I know 5 gigs isn't that big of a deal - but really, what's up with that? Capcom didn't specify why the PS3 version requires the large install and the Xbox 360 version does not. Just another annoying report of PS3 owners being required to wait longer before playing a brand new game.
Does this change your mind about which version you'll buy?

Maybe it runs better with the install. Devil May Cry ran better on the PS3 because of its install. Capcom knows what they are doing.
Plus, a lot of us have big drives that are sitting there with nothing to do. :)

I like that the 360 has the optional "install to HDD" feature. I've played both the 360 and PS3 version and I prefer the 360 version over PS3 anyway so I'll be getting it for 360.

I cant believe this whole PS3 Vs 360 thing is still on going!
Its you people who write these kind of reports, that get the public/community arguing about it all again, and its fecking annoying!
Get a real hobby seriously, its the same fucking game so get it on whichever computer you want!
Hell with it, the only thing that actually matters is the control pad!!! Talk about something new and interesting please, gamepro got boring months ago...

So you're saying that the only thing that matters is the control pad? Then that means that Halo 3 and Gears are on the PS3 and MGS and God of War are on the 360? Also, you're saying that the arguing needs to stop and that we need to get a hobby...videogames is a hobby. Also, if you're wasting your time trying to contradict the masses isn't that more pointless than what you are arguing against?

I'm getting this for Xbox. I don't have a 360 yet but plan on getting one next month or two months from now. I'm getting this version not because you don't have to install anything, but because the 360 is cheaper and has more games on it that I want to play. Until the PS3 delivers on a killer ass IP or God of War 3, I'm going with Microsoft. I love Sony, but now, until they get their heads out their ass, I'm sticking with 360 and Wii.

"big" deal...not bit...before you guys jump on me for a spelling error. Also, as a follow-up, do games show install information on them? "If not, why not, if so, what took ya?" I don't think they do, (correct me if I'm wrong) probably so it doesn't deter potential buyers. I think it would be irresponsible not to provide this information.

GamePro does this on purpose to keep Fanboy wars going. Which I don't care about one bit. Leeisds is right, it's really annoying. Evan Goldberg, quit being so trite, you know what was trying to be said, that is also annoying. This isn't really a bit deal. I am curious to know if there is a game that requires more space, and I wonder how much space FF13 will require.
