1.8 million Xbox 360s have been infected with the Resident Evil 5 demo, surpassing the former record holder Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Capcom and Microsoft reported today that the Resident Evil 5 demo (now available on PlayStation 3), surpassed the 1.3 million download mark in its first three days on Xbox Live and beat out the former record holder, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, for most downloads in the first week of release. The news also reports that the Japanese version of Resident Evil 5 (Bio Hazard 5) has been accessed by 53 per cent of Japanese Xbox Live Gold members.

Resident Evil 5 is scheduled for release on Friday, March 13th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

I'll be buying this game on release even tho I haven't downloaded the demo yet since my 360 is off for repairs
I'll download it on the PS3 tho see how it is

I'm a DL PS3 version to see how it compares with 360 version in terms of controll. I don't like the fact that it takes 5GB of HDD on the PS3 to install. I have a 60GB PS3 and have to clean out a few saves to sure I have room for RE5.

It takes for-fucking-ever!!

The demo took about 10-20 minutes to download on my 360 and my PS3 has been downloading it for over an hour and its at like 67%, and I still have to install it. So annoying...

I was looking forward to the release of RE5 and it was like Christmas all over again when I fired up the demo, then reality set in. The controls to me (even after I tweaked the control settings) just seemed awkward and a bit slow. I was expecting the game control to be even better than Dead Space, but in my opinion they are not. It was a little frustrating and kind of took the fun out of the demo. I had a friend come over to try it and they felt the same in regard to game control (graphics and character models look great). So, this is another title that I will most likely wait for the price to drop to around the 29.99 - 39.99 price range.

The controls are different from Dead Space, but they work nonetheless, just gotta get used to them. Still they could've improved the controls a little more than they did.. at least make the movement true analog movement rather than digital movement mapped to an analog stick. I hate games that control like that.

Game is amazing, but for a first time RE player like myself, it took some getting used to. I'll probably rent the game before I buy, just to see if I like the controls enough for other levels, but regardless, I probably will.

this game is dope, not Micheal Phelps dope, though theres nothing wrong with smoking chronic and being able to win 6 gold medals , anyway this is a must have , Capcom my friends have not been laying down like alot of companies kudos to the Capcom company
