Source: Activison confirms DJ Hero, coming this year
- January 30, 2009 00:00 AM PST
In a morning interview with CNBC, Activison Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick spilled the beans about DJ Hero, noting it will be out "this year."
Is Accordion Hero next? Please god I hope so...
This morning CNBC sat down with Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, who amid insight into the current economic climate of the video game industry, casually mentions to the reporter that Activison has "this product called DJ Hero coming out later this year which is a turntable that you can actually play competitively, spin discs and mix songs."
While this isn't the first time Activision has casually brought up DJ Hero, it's good to hear this from a trusted source (who better to trust than the friggin' CEO?) and interesting to note that DJ Hero is now confirmed for a 2009 launch. Stay tuned for more details.

It ain't nothing like having 2 Technics-1200 Turn Tables and Gemini Mixer, 2 milk crates full of 12" records and some big ass speakers. Now thats how you get down DJ. I use to mix House Music back in Chicago when I was 16yrs old. Ain't nothing like throwning a basement party!

I gotta agree with AANTHUNDER. I've never been a DJ but I've played guitar for 27 years now and there is no feeling like the Real Deal. Standing in front of a Marshall Full Stack while the distortion rips through you...Nothing like it. If kids take a real interest in spinning records or playing an instrument the a game like this is worth it. But from what I have seen so far everyone seems content with just mastering the game.
