Dead Rising 2: possibly on PS3 as well as Xbox 360

Plans on making Dead Rising 2 a multi-platform game are revealed in the most recent issue of Famitsu.

Capcom's Head of Research and Development and producer of the first Dead Rising video game for the Xbox 360, Keiji Inafune, confirmed with Japanese video game magazine Famitsu that Capcom is working on new Dead Rising game. Lost Planet 2 is also mentioned in the interview with Inafune.

In the new issue of Famitsu, which was translated by Kotaku, Inafune also noted that the Dead Rising team has plans to try to make Dead Rising 2 a multi-platform game this time around, which suggests the upcoming zombie game sequel may land on PlayStation 3.

"We're finally putting out new Dead Rising and Lost Planet games! As a main principle we're thinking about multi-platform," said Keiji Inafune.

Keiji Inafune also briefly noted how he wants to expand on both the Lost Planet and Dead Rising universes with these new games.

While we probably won't see Dead Rising 2 until next year, Dead Rising : Chop Till You Drop, the Wii version of the original Dead Rising, will be released on February 24, 2009.

Smart business move. Exclusives by third party companies are just dumb these days.

That sucks i dont think they should make a sequel multi platform if the original was an exclusive

if you want the third installment of a series looking better and more polished than the previous two i think you should change your stand.more platforms more money more funding.

C'mon. This is old news. Capcom said they were going to go multiplatform on every game moving forward after Devil May Cry 4 came out. Why anybody would be surprised that any of these games come out for the PS3 is beyond me.

Companies need to go multiplatform on the 360 and PS3 these days because it's expensive to develop on those systems, and neither system has the market share of the Wii so they need to go mutliplatform to make up for it. I think if the 360 was in first place you'd see a lot more exclusives on that system.

no shit thats why i said more funding.yeah the cost are more because the teams making these games in most cases are pretty big too.which is another reason they cost alot to develop.
