First Killzone 2 reviews roll in

The first Killzone 2 reviews are starting to roll in and the final verdict is...

PlayStation Official Magazine U.S. gives Killzone 2 a perfect score of 10/10 and PlayStation Official Magazine U.K. gives the PlayStation 3 exclusive a 9/10. Regardless of the fact that the official PlayStation magazine is giving this PS3 exclusive a high score, GamePro anticipates near perfect scores across the board. Aggregated Killzone 2 scores can be found at GameRankings.com and MetaCritic.com.

GamePro features editor Patrick Shaw has been enthusiastically quoted saying, "[Killzone 2] is the best action movie you've ever played." Senior editor Sid Shuman sincerely said, "Wow" when he first played the game a couple months ago. And I got into a debate with David Ellis of 1UP.com about which had better graphics - Killzone 2 vs. Resident Evil 5.

Killzone 2 is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and hits store shelves on February 27th. Check out GamePro's Killzone 2 hub for trailers, screen shots, previews, and features.

THE VERDICT by Travis Moses Travis Moses's Avatar

We're not allowed to post GamePro's official review just yet, but I will say that our review falls right in line with PTOM's. You can read it in GamePro's March issue, which hits newsstands in early February (subscribers should be getting that issue much sooner), or read it online February 2nd. Personally, I didn't review the game, but it's a f-ing epic shooter. My only qualm is with the lagged look sensitivity, which is usually a cover up for poor framerates. However, once you get used to the sluggish feel you'll be mowing down Helghast with ease.

What have I been saying about reviews from magazines and sites that have the word "playstation", or "official" or "Sony" in the title?
they will give the game perfect scores because they know the future of the PS3 rides on this game.
So already the process is flawed.

The fact that the one gave it a 9/10 isn't a good sign, Sony could crap on a plate and get a 10 over there.
And what about the 3.5/5 it got from Maxium magazine?

I'll wait until Gamespot and IGN review it. I usually agree with them good or bad.
I still have been hearing that the controls are a bit wonky, and it doesn't matter how pretty it is, it comes down to control.
