In a recent promotion for a Borders-esque Japanese retailer, Hideo Kojima names a few of his major film influences.
We're watching you, Kojima.
Tsutaya Co., a Japanese retailer similar to Borders or Barnes and Noble recently featured a list of Hideo Kojima's major film influences for his gaming portfolio. While it's obvious that Kojima has taken cues over the years from the medium, some films are less expected than others.
Kojima notes that Planet of the Apes was a major influence due to its anti-war message, and Chilren of Men for its realistic, handheld camera-style cinematography. Other obvious choices include The Deer Hunter and the Bourne series of films. Click here for the full list.

I usec to hold him in the same regard as Miyamoto but as of late he seems more and more than nothing else but a fan-boy. IMO (so back off fan-boys) he's lost a lot of credibility. His games are still great and I'll still play I just won't listen to his interviews anymore.

I know the game your talking about I own The Twin Snakes and even though it's MGS Kojima didn't really have anything to do with that version. It was handled by the team that made Eternal Darkness for the Cube (I think it's Crystal Dynamics). I really said that because he will only make games for the PlayStation which I hate not because I'm a 360 fan-boy, but because I enjoy his games but don't like Sony so I would like the chance to play MGS4 outside of a Sony made system.

your kidding right?
I would have to think it would be the movie he wrote and starred in AND took home the Oscar for "Good Will Hunting"
while the Bourne movies are slick, I mean, come on man, ... best work? lol

this moron is still trying to figure out why his games aren't huge like Gears, Halo, or COD.
He just can't wrap his little brain around the fact that a small group of people love his long and boring cut-scenes, but to the rest of us they're like nails on a chalk board.
