Seven of the ten most rented video games of 2008 were for the Xbox 360, three were for the Wii, and none were for the PS3.
GameDaily has posted the results for the top 10 most frequently rented video games of 2008. In the list, which was compiled by Rentrak, seven of the ten games that were rented the most last year are for the Xbox 360. The remaining three titles are for the Nintendo Wii, leaving the PlayStation 3 entirely absent from the top 10.
It shouldn't come as too much of a shock that Grand Theft Auto IV turned out to be the #1 most rented game of 2008, but there are some interesting results from the data released. The rather underwhelming Army of Two came in at #5 and the year-old Mario Party 8 made the list in the #10 spot.
Here's the complete list of the top 10 rented games of 2008:
There's more in store for Grand Theft Auto IV fans as the highly-anticipated downloadable expansion, The Lost and the Damned, is being released on Xbox Live this February. Get more info on it here.

Easily explained. The 13 and 14 year olds who make up the majority of 360 owners, cannot afford to buy games so they go out and rent them. Simple.OMFGfiRst!!!1!!!1!!!
I love how people justify something that they don't like. Regardless of who the majority owners are, the numbers are in black-n-white. I love my PS3; there isn't some evil slant. Things ARE what they ARE most of the time. It is a well known fact that the people with disposable incomes are the youth. Mom and dad will usually go without for their kids. How else could you explain the Wii's domination and Disney? No disrespect. BTW, how do you know the majority of 360 owners are 13-14. If you are grown you shouldn't be hangin' around with 13-14 year olds. If you are 13-14 does that mean you are broke too?

In the last two news stories I wrote (which were %100 objective aside from my Verdict) I was accused of being a "Sony fanboy" which is not only beyond ridiculous since I'm not making up these news stories, only reporting them, it's just not true because I have no allegiance to any one particular console. I like them all. So... I guess my point is, look I'm posting a pro-360 news story this time. Still, crazy results though, huh?
you fanboy you!!!!!
