Resident Evil 5 demo hits in 12 days

Two full levels from Resident Evil 5 hit January 26 on Xbox Live and around February 5 on PSN.
Resident Evil 5, Capcom's fifth chapter in their renowned zombie-slaying survival horror franchise and first Resident Evil game on Xbox 360 and PS3, releases on March 13, 2009, but you don't have to wait two months to play the game.
Get ready to play the hell out of the RE5 demo... SOON!
A playable Resident Evil 5 demo will be available for download on Monday, January 26 on Xbox Live and about a week later on PSN. The exact date of the RE5 demo on the PlayStation 3 is unknown, but it's promised to be around February 5 when a new PSN update is scheduled to go up.
Two levels from Resident Evil 5's story mode will be included in the free demo which can be played either online or offline in the game's cooperative mode where players massacre parasitic hordes as series hero Chris Redfield and female newcomer Sheva Alomar. It's still unconfirmed what stages in particular will be in the demo, but they'll likely be the first two levels where you battle infected villagers, the hulking axe-carrying executioner, and even the new one-eyed chainsaw-wielding madman.
If you can't wait 12 days (or 22 for PS3 owners) to get your hands on Resident Evil 5, why not replay and refresh yourself on the last couple of great RE games?

Same here. Glad to see they finally decided to bring the franchise to 360. Can't wait for Tekken 6 on the 360 either. Am I the only one who thinks exclusive games are unnecessary? (Yes, that means I don't mind if Halo or Gears of War would be on the PS3.)

it's already out there, you can download the japanese version of the demo and play it now. you only need to be offline to be able to play it. a cousin of mine did it (he also changed the country of the console -to japan). I thought it would be in japanese or something but the voices are in english, actually everything, and you can play 2 levels, in one of them, you witness a public assasination and the zombies start chasing you, one of them even has a big axe; on the second level, you are going through some houses and some weird things appear flying and chasing you, and then you get to the level that a guy showed months ago, where you help the girl to jump to another building and then asks for help. I found it very similar to resident evil 4, they even have the same animation (like when you kill the zombies). it's kinda hard. but believe me, you can already play it here in america.

i still am pissed that this game is not a ps3 exclusive. im not a fanboy, i have all 3 systems, but some people buy certain systems to get what they think will be exclusives then they turn out not to be

I already played the Japanese demo. The new controls are pretty cool. But I prefer aiming with the left stick in resident evil games since RE4

Without exclusives there'd be no competition. And without any competition, not only would prices stay high, but less great games would come out since there's no motivation to beat someone else. Simple, yes?
But anyways, NIIICE a demo's coming out! Definitely gonna check it out! I'll be getting whichever version more of my friends are getting it on, and right now that's PS3 by 2 people.
