New developer grinds on upcoming Tony Hawk game

Neversoft passes the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise off to a new developer.
In an interview chronicling Joel Jewett's rise from skater punk to co-founder and president of Neversoft Entertainment, the video game development company behind the Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise and the latest Guitar Hero titles, Jewett confirms that Neversoft is not working on the newest, upcoming Tony Hawk skateboarding game. Here's what he had to say:
Neversoft plans to release more sequels to the "Guitar Hero" series - including the much-ballyhooed "Guitar Hero: Metallica" set for release during the first quarter of this year - but the company has let the Tony Hawk series go to another developer. It's probably best for the franchise ... it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it," Jewett said.
It's no surprise that Neversoft is not working on the newest, upcoming Tony Hawk game -- Neversoft was tapped creatively on Tony Hawk in my opinion. What I hope to see out of this is more Guitar Hero World Tour DLC and a Gun sequel. Would anyone else be stoked to hear of a Gun sequel?

and as for Tony Hawk...the series needs to die...Skate 2 is where it's at.

Hopefully whomever is doing the TH games will do something good with it. The TH games aren't just good anymore, especially with Skate around.
And GH:Rush would be awesome, along with an GH:AC/DC. And a Led Zeppelin based game would be awesome, only if Harmonix did it because, tehy're better with the rhythm games than Neversoft, in my opinion. But Harmonix will have a hell of a time getting them to allow a full game of their music when tehy won't allow them one song for Rock band.

After playing Skate, I don't feel the need to play THPS. THPS 1 - 4 consumed my life but it got stale after that.
A Gun sequel would be awesome!
