Xbox 360 sales double in Europe this holiday season

Microsoft enjoyed double the Xbox 360 units sold in Europe this holiday season, with over 8 million sold in the region to date.
The holiday season was kind to Microsoft this year, and they have the sales figures to prove it. Selling over double the units sold in the 2007 holiday crunch according to GfK Chart-Track data, the Xbox 360 now has a huge lead in Europe over the PS3.
Though it's yet to be seen if the recent production cost drop for creating a PS3 will influence the price in the coming months, Sony will have to step up their game to stay competitive with Microsoft in the European market.

no surprise here.thats good for ms,they need to stack up as much money as they can to recoup the losses they took on the repairs, and the lawsuit that is probably going to cost them too. once its all said and done.

ummmm...hmmmm I'm not saying I told you so. honest, okay, okay, but I told you that a price drop would be it! They are close to mass market price now baby. Superior graphics, more games, faster loading games, easy development kit, more RPG's, way more block buster titles (30 to 9 says wikipedia). And the Square Enix executive recently saying it is easier (surprise) to develop for the xbox360 than the ps3 means blow out! (again). What will the PS3 fans say to this latest 'A' kicking? I know, I know, wait until Riiiidge racer! it will save the ps3! Wait until, resistance fall of man! wait for motor storm, wait for GTAIV scratch that it went 360 wait until liar! wait until haze! wait until assassins creed ops scratch that it went 360 wait until VF5 ops It went xbox360 wait for uncharted it will show them! wait the big one FFXIII scratch that it went multi wait for uncharted! wait for MGS4 wait until Little big planet, wait for resistance II? Ahhhh I know, I have a original Idea lets keep waiting for kill zone II the third non fake video version.

I don't know why people continue to buy this piece of sh*t system!? I went to my local Best Buy the other day and no joke there were almost a dozen crapped out 360's lined up across the repair counter! Sure the 360 is CHEAP, in every sense of the word, but why people continue to support this thing is a mystery to me!?
The PS3 may cost more, but there's a reason for that!

I disagree. The reason MS lowered the price of their system was because Sony was closing the gap (and cheaper production cost). I am a MS/Sony/Nin (in that order) supporter, but I think competition is good. This may cause MS to become complacent and we all knows what happens when a company becomes complacent. If you are not sure, ask Nintendo about their mid nineties run and Sony about their present day status. When there is competition you get MGS4 and GOW2. When there isn't any comp you get NBA Live. Yes that was a shot at EA.

Hey Duffmanth are u sure they were crapped out because I work for best buy and we always have at least a dozen Xbox360's and PS3 and Wii's at Geek Squad getting the firmware upgraded because parents pay us to do that.. Because Best Buy does NOT repair XBOX360, PS3's or anything besides laptops in store..
