LittleBigPlanet runs as a first-person game.

LittleBigPlanet: the FPS may have seemed far-fetched before, but the game's creators have now shown the game running and functioning in the first-person perspective.

During an interview with the European branch of IGN, creators of Sony's popular user-generated video game LittleBigPlanet, Media Molecule, showed off the PlayStation 3 game running in the first-person perspective.

When asked about the possibility of a LittleBigPlanet FPS update, Media Molecule's David Smith states that "there's nothing off the table," also saying that "if it's something that the community wanted, we'd totally listen to that."

After answering IGN's question about LBP in a first-person perspective, the game's team actually booted up the game in first-person, proving that LittleBigPlanet is fully-functional in this view.

After the demo of LittleBigPlanet in this new perspective, Media Molecule's Alex Evans revealed to IGN that "there's no reason why features like this could never make it."

The topic of Sony's genre bending puzzle-rich platformer going into first-person was originally brought up by the news of the Metal Gear Solid-themed DLC coming to LittleBigPlanet, which will include a paintball gun.

THE VERDICT by Patrick Shaw Patrick Shaw's Avatar I remember buying some software a bazillion years ago (back in the days of Doom II) that allowed you to make your own first-person shooter. Of course, the thing was friggin impossible to figure out, especially since I was ten. But I could totally put together a first-person level if I could do it through LittleBigPlanet. I say, we all start screaming at Sony to make this happen.

That might be interesting. I just picked up LBP and it's a blast. First person might be kind of cool as well. I'd prefer 3rd person though for platforming, 1st person if they make some kind of "shooter" mod.

Well if you think about it the tools are all applied right and work well. Should be good, I don't think it'll be too comprehensive, however.

Blasphemy!! I've been hoping LBP would be a huge hit because it's NOT an FPS. I'd love to see more sidescrolling platformers, because I've always hated platforming in 1st or 3rd person.

Giant Clank

cool, but it would feel a little crazy after a while... swinging especially.

Sounds cool, but I bought LBP To get AWAY From FPS's or shooters in General.

Besides wouldnt this be a slap in the face to EA? (Mirrors Edge)

DGeneral

Being able to control the camera perspective through an entire level? That sounds awesome.
