Is Crackdown 2 really being made? Edge speculates that former members of the team behind Crackdown could be working on a sequel.
(not official box art)
Edge reports that the formation of the new Scottish video game development studio Ruffian Games, which is made up primarily of ex-members of the team who worked on Crackdown for the Xbox 360, could mean that Crackdown 2 is in development.
The article on Edge speculates that people who'd worked on Crackdown, including Gaz Liddon and the game's lead designer Billy Thomson will be working for Ruffian Games. Apparently the new game company was spotted looking for a place for their offices in Dundee, Scotland.
Although the report notes that "speculation that a new Crackdown game is in development was triggered last night," no real evidence to back up this claim was issued and Microsoft has not officially announced that Crackdown 2 is going to happen.

I absolutely loved the first crackdown, If they were making a 2nd game what I need to see done is at the very least some kind of competitive multiplayer beween you and maybe 9 other players making it 10!, I think crackdown 1 could have been the best multiplayer game of it's time had something like that been implemented, but who knows if the system can even run all that stuff happening at the same time. Imagine sniping somoene from the top of 20-story building:Pwnage!. Killing people with the agency cars that would be fun too, and hand-to-hand super strength combat, with in-game leveling up? easily best multiplayer GOTY. we all know that's what was missing I'd pay 60 bucks for that.

I don't mind a sequel. the 1st game was hella-fun to play and i had a blast lifting and throwing cars as well as juggling enemies in the air with a gun.
crackdown was completely overlooked in my opinion!!!

I really loved the first game despite what other people said about it. I too liked picking up very large vehicles and throwing them around like they were nothing. The being able to go anywhere you could see was a blast too. Getting to the tops of the really tall buildings was such an acomplishment when you did it for the first time. The only real drawback was the cops, they always got in the way, and even one stray bullet set them off shooting at you. I also wished that all the cars in the game could morph/evolve instead of just the agency vehicles. They sure made sure a sequel sounded like it was comming at the end of the game, I was dissapointed when I never heard anything. Oh, and an arrow that pointed to the orbs when you got kinda close would have also been nice.
