God of War III: the last God of War game?

No more God of War after the next game? Sony claims Kratos' final gory adventure will in fact be God of War III.

A report on GameDaily sheds some light on the forthcoming third game in Sony's action series, God of War III. The article reveals that Kratos' first foray on the PlayStation 3 is said by SCEA to be "the last installment" in the God of War franchise. This news comes to us right after the unveiling of the second God of War III trailer.

In addition to disclosing Sony's plans to make the next game the end of God of War, the article also notes that God of War III will be four times as long as God of War II and will take full advantage of the next-generation technology of the PS3.

Sony is confident that fans will be pleased with GoWIII as the game's director Stig Asmussen states its "refined gameplay and jaw-dropping visuals" are guaranteed to "give fans what they have been eagerly waiting for..."

THE VERDICT by Patrick Shaw Patrick Shaw's Avatar Oh boy. How many times have us gamers heard this one? I remember when Metal Gear Solid 2 was said to be the last MGS game. Then when Metal Gear Solid 3 was announced, they said the series would end with that one. They made the same claim with Metal Gear Solid 4, when most of us suspect that Metal Gear Solid 5 is coming sooner or later. I have a hard time believing Sony would even consider giving up on what could be the PS3's bread and butter even before seeing how well God of War III sells. I say bring on God of War IV, V, and VI.

Screens look good. Its obviously not using the PS3's full potential yet though.

This should be the last installment of the series...in fact, they should take this opportunity and go all-out with the game, make it epic and spectacular so that it may live on as a legend of sorts!!!

I was thinking the same thing I just didn't want to hear the fangirls complain. I like God of War, I've passed some of them and this one looks really cool but the graphics don't look good at all, I know it's early and it's not done yet. I just hope they make them better in the final version.
