Ubisoft has brought together an all-star team to create a new fighter based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IP.
According to IGN, the upcoming issue of Nintendo Power magazine will feature a preview of a new fighting game starring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Ubisoft-published title, which will not be based on a movie or TV show, will be a 4-player 2.5D fighter in the mold of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The development team will consist of many former Team Ninja and Smash Bros. developers, both of which know their way around simulated smackdowns.
Note to Ubisoft: Remake this game.
The article states that the game has been in development for well over a year, and will feature modes like Story, Battle Royal, Tournament, Practice, and Winner/Loser Stays. The game will also boast a robust online component that should encompass a few of the aformentioned modes, and maybe some others. No characters were confirmed, but we'll keep Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael in the "probably" pile. In any case, you can be assured that we'll keep our eyes on this game. Anything that mixes Smash Bros., Ninja Gaiden, and our heroes in a half shell is okay in our books.

Brawl doesn't have any motion-based control scheme...
Actually it does. I believe Snake's FS uses the Wii mote to aim, as well as his Nikita. Pit's arrow is also affected by motion control as well. Also, if you wave the Wii-mote, you do a Smash attack. There are probably some other little knick knacks I haven't tried.
When I saw the title I expected new content for Brawl. Instead, I see a TMNT fighting game. My hopes are low for this one just like everyone other 3D TMNT.

Dave Rudden: I absolutely loved the SNES TMNT fighting game
TMNT Tournament fighters was a great game...a little unbalanced at times but still fun to play. The Genesis version had better characters and was more violent (buckets of blood), but the SNES one had way better gameplay. Hopefully this time we'll get to play with Master Splinter.

I really didn't like the TMNT fighting games that much, my favorite has always been Turtles In Time. I still play it to this day. Once in a while when I'm bored of playing my newer games I'll pop it in and finish the game in one sit down. What a great game they really need to remake it, they don't make games as fun as that one anymore.
