New grim advertisement features the tombstone of one of the series' biggest characters, Jill Valentine, possibly suggesting that her death will play a key role in Resident Evil 5's plot.
Open the latest issue of Japanese video game magazine Famitsu and the first thing you'll see is a big 2-page ad for Capcom's upcoming Resident Evil 5 (called Bio Hazard 5 in Japan). The advertisement depicts the game's male protagonist Chris Redfield placing flowers on the grave of his ex-partner from the original Resident Evil, Jill Valentine, thus confirming that she is in fact deceased. Although a glimpse of the grave was briefly shown in the Hollywood action movie-like Resident Evil 5 trailer from TGS 2008, many gamers missed this.
The full engraving on Valentine's tombstone reads:
BSAA
Jill Valentine
1974-2006"
This new ad suggests that RE5 will illuminate the grim details of how exactly Jill has died.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jill is still alive or at least undead. This is Resident Evil we are talking about after all.

Oh. My. God. I'm going to fucking cry. This sucks so bad. Resident Evil is my favorite game series and I've grown attached to all the characters. Except for Steve. Steve is a douchebag.

Nah, Jill isn't dead. It's a ploy to make her "disappear." So the Umbrella corp won't go after her.

She can still be alive, its not like Capcom to kill main characters without us seeing it first hand... Just look at Wesker.Just another mystery for the game.
This is a female though. CAPCOM is rather sexist and they hardly kill off female characters. Konami has alot of balls and kills off female characters like nothing.

I agree. I doubt he is dead, this is probably something to help extend the story.
