Halo Wars releasing on March 3

Microsoft's highly anticipated RTS is coming this March! Pre-orders get a flame decal Warthog, and Limited Edition owners get an early map download!

Microsoft announced the most highly-anticipated details of its upcoming RTS title, Halo Wars. The game will release on March 3, 2009 in North America, though notably, it will be coming out a week earlier in Japan, Europe, and the rest of the world.

The game will be coming in two flavors--a standard $59.99 package, and a $79.99 Limited Collectors Edition that will include an in-game Wraith, a graphic novel, six collector's cards and a patch (the fabric kind, not the software kind). Limited Edition owners will also get to download "Halo 3" Mythic Map Pack before standard edition customers. Regardless of which version they pick, all pre-ordering customers will get an in-game Warthog with flame decals.

The "Hot Wheels" Warthog is kinda lame, but I'll still be getting the Limited Collector's Edition. I just hope it doesn't get gutted like the Fable 2 Limited Edition.

Well what do you expect them to do with the Warthog?

How many people play RTS games anyways? I played Command and Conquer once for the N64 never played a RTS sense then, but thats just me. The Halo part of this game is going to draw Halo fan's though.

AlexVt3, please go play Starcraft, Warcraft III, Company of Heroes, Red Alert 3, and Dawn of War immediately. C&C for the N64 is not a good indicator of the genre's potential. Srsly.

I used to like RTS games, but I just don't like all of that click and move action. Don't get me wrong, this looks like a solid title, but I just prefer games that give me the "soldier's" perspective as opposed to this overall "commander's" perspective.
