Nintendo Director Miyamoto speaks his mind on the low review scores of his latest game, Wii Music.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo Director and creator of renowned franchises like Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, says that the "gaming media has a different view of anything as new as Wii Music." when asked to comment on the poor review scores his game garnered.
In an interview with Edge Online, Senior Managing Director of Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto refuted the generally negative review scores Wii Music received. The game, which is his first Nintendo project since Wii Fit currently has a 63 out of 100 review average on both Metacritic and GameRankings.
When asked about his thoughts on Wii Music's low scores, Miyamoto responded with "I really appreciate that the gaming media has a different view of anything as new as Wii Music today." He adds "it simply symbolizes how different and unique Wii Music is."
Despite some of Wii Music's negative reviews, some gaming pubs gave it favorable reviews including us (3.5 out of 5 Stars) and 1UP (A-)

I was someone who said people should give this game a chance, even though I assumed I would get bored of it after 30 minutes. I finally rented it the other night, wanted to see if my 2.5 year old would be interested in it since he likes music. Needless to say, I was bored after 10 minutes. The kid didn't really take to it, but then again all he wanted to do at the time was play with his cars.
There is no defending this game. It's boring as hell. It's pointless. It's a severely dumbed down version of Guitar Hero with more than just guitars. I hope this becomes an insanely huge flop so Miyamoto lays off this wimpy of game. Te Wii needs more traditional games, not pointless fluff like this.
Game Informer gave this game 3/10. 1Up/EGM game it A-. The A- came from a female reviewer. It seems like a game that would appeal more to women than men, but not even my wife liked this game at all. I give it a failing grade of E.

Yeah, I agree eday. Really bad game, though some kids will probably love it.
Also, eday, did you check your private messages on GP.com? I sent you something...

The review I heard that best describes it is that the music is already playing but when you hit the button you hear it for a split second while you use the wiimote correctly.
