Majesco ships Cake Mania: In The Mix! for Wii

EDISON, N.J. -- Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ:COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, and Sandlot Games, a leading developer and publisher of casual and family-friendly games, today announced that Cake Mania(R): In The Mix! for Wii(TM) has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Based on Sandlot Games' award-winning PC franchise that has been downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide and sold half a million units on Nintendo DS(TM), Cake Mania: In The Mix! introduces all-new characters, motion-based cake customization and a unique co-op mode that allows up to four players to join in the baking madness at once.

Building upon the success of the hectic, time-management style gameplay of the original Cake Mania and the branching storyline of Cake Mania 2, Cake Mania: In the Mix! lets players use the Wii Remote(TM) to manage all aspects of Jill Evans' bakery business. Players will serve a myriad of all-new demanding customers-including ninjas, pregnant moms and leprechauns-and can then use cumulative bakery earnings to purchase more than 50 unique kitchen upgrades to expand their business. In the Mix! also features nine brand new locations, an Endless Baking mode and 4-player cooperative play. Players can even design custom cakes and then send Digital Greeting Cards of their cake creations to friends online via WiiConnect24!

Developed by Gorilla, Cake Mania: In The Mix! for Wii(TM) is rated E for Everyone and now available for a suggested retail price of only $29.99. For additional information about Majesco's exciting line of products, please visit www.majescoentertainment.com.

Man, that game is just a new incarnation of BEER TAP! Same premiss : got to run around supplying beer to customers before they get angry and watch out that the mugs don't hit the ground. $29.99! You are much better off, buying some cake mix and saving $26.99. The cake would leave a better taste in your mouth than this piece of shit!

Is this really worthy of being a news story on this site? Cake Mania? Really? Or did Majesco pay for this? Either way, not something I would every be interested in. I am with AnalThunder on this one: I'd rather buy cake mix and make myself a cake. If I want to play something like this, I'll go to my computer and play Diner Dash. Which I'll never do.

Well its not like most Wii developers will even talk to GP anymore.. They have to cover things like this because the dev's making core games already know where their allegiance lies and know not to even bother giving them a 1 on 1 interview.
Since AA isnt being his usual troll fanboy self let us all give him a break. Either someone owned him or he is finally maturing. Either way its a nice break and let us not ruin it.

Flamebait from FlamePro. They couldn't announce that Tales of Symphonia or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles instead.

IGN had an article up Friday where Reggie Fils-Aime stated that 3rd parties "just don't get it" when it comes to making the types of games that Wii owners really want. Nintendo is partially to blame because of the way they marketed the console, but also 3rd parties do nothing but port over and create sub-par titles for the system. Nintendo needs to get some quality control going on quick if they want this to change.

Looking at the current Wii line up for the Holidays, if you call it a line up, it makes you wonder why would anyone buy a wii. 5 good games in 2 years is not acceptable by any standards. PS3 and 360 get good to great games on a monthly bases. They get a mix of action, FPS, sports and RPG's. I took the time to look at a few games for the wii in December. Imagine: Fashion Party. More like imagine wii owners getting a good game! Six Flags Fun Park! Wait, if thats not enough, they got the Limited Edition version for $10 more! Save your money , sit in a office chair and spin till you puke! Word Jong Party: keep that $40 and go to a Bong Party. You have the best time you'll never remember. Garfield gets Real: more like Wii owners get BENT! My personal favorite, Fantasy Aquairium.Wii owners stick your heads in a toilet filled with shit and DON'T flush! Look on the bright side, you got Rygar coming. Ps2 port that looks better on the 7 year old PS2 than on the Wii. Reggie blesses every Wii with 2 drops of piss before they are shipped. Thats why there is a shortage, not enough piss for the wiis
