Price drop: Rock Band now $100 for Wii, PS2

Amid economic recession, Electronic Arts and company dropped the price of the original Rock Band today to $100 on Wii and PS2, and $140 on Xbox 360 and PS3.

All price cut "special editions" come with one wired guitar, drum set, microphone, and the game with 58 songs on disc. Notable artists include Rolling Stones, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash, Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and Radiohead to name a few.

Though first released in 2007, the original Rock Band for Wii, PS2, Xbox 360, and PS3 is just as fun as it was last year when played with four people, particularly if you've never experienced the game. Believe you me!

The news comes as retailers gear up for an expectantly slow holiday season due to tight credit and low consumer confidence. What better way to drown your sorrows than with Rock Band on the cheap, eh?

Not bad.

Decision time: sell my DS and possibly look at getting Rock Band, sell my DS and save all the moolah to put toward an Xbox 360, or keep the DS and order a few games online?

Cool, might get it for Wii. Anyone know if the Wii GH III guitar would work with Rock Band?
