Horn tooting: Mad skills earn GamePro LittleBigPlanet honors

GamePro wins a 40" big screen and bragging rights for beating other gaming press in the LittleBigPlanet create-a-level contest sponsored by Sony and the official PlayStation blog.

The winning level, entitled "Air, Sea, and Land," was created by GamePro's Arthur Orneck (web developer), Andrew Yang (designer), William Chu (assistant to the regional designer), and senior editor Sid Shuman.

"It's obvious a lot of effort went into this level," said David Smith, president of Media Molecule, on the PlayStation blog yesterday. "It just keeps going and going. It's also brutally hard in a couple of places, but that just makes it more satisfying when you finish it. I chose this level as the winner simply because it kept surprising me with new ideas and felt nicely challenging. So congratulations to GamePro for a job well done!"

Honorable mentions included submissions by Destructoid and Games Radar, which can be seen on the PlayStation blog. "Air, Sea, and Land" is available now for download from within the game.

Nice going guys even though I would never play that game it's nice to see you guys won.

Congratulations you guys. Sounds like it's a pretty fun level. I wish I had a PS3 to check it out.

Thanks guys! The level is rough (and VERY difficult!) but it's pretty ambitious and has some really cool parts -- I loved the zeppelin vehicle :)

The TV is staying in our office so we can play Gears 2 on it. :)

Now I seem to remember another lbp comtest that was being judged....a month ago....now where was that again?

Glad to hear you guys won a contest, but what ever happened to the level creation contest from beta? Winners were never announced :(
