Wireless classic controller available for Wii

Now you can play select Wii, Virtual Console, and WiiWare games in style, thanks to a new third-party classic controller.

It's called a Wing, not to be confused with Wavebird

The wireless Wing controller, made by budding accessory and peripheral maker Nyko, features "smooth contours that are ergonomically designed for a comfortable fit," has a range of 10 feet, lasts a reported 30 hours on two included AAA batteries, and supports rechargeable batteries through the use of a USB cable.

"The Wing is a great example of what we at Nyko aim to do: improve the gamer's experience with a quality made product," the company said in a statement today. "There have been very few options for classic gaming control designed specifically for the Wii until now."

The Wing costs $30 and is in stores now.

Cool. Just what I have been waiting for. Nintendo's classic controller is not contoured enough. It gets uncomfortable to hold after playing for a while.

I like the original CC's design. . . plus Nintendo's famous durablity comes into play.

no one is going to buy this

I might, actually... depends mostly on whether I download any SNES games from the VC, though... The GameCube controller does well for about everything else...

I'm passing on this one. It's not like having the Wii Remote beside you and a cord traveling from you to a foot beside you is that much of a nuisance. I have no desire to have the ability to leave the Remote 8 feet away when I will eventually need it when I am done with the classic controller. Plus with a 2-year-old, I have more than enough stuff in the house that needs batteries.

That thing is fugly. I think I'd rather have a first-party wireless option, but until then I'll make due with my Wavebird.

There's nothing wrong with the Wii Classic Controler... I really only use it for VC-SNES games anyway. Why would you want to deal with even more batteries?

They need to make a N64 controller for Wii... N64 games suck with the GC controller because the button layout is completely different (and annoying as hell). The Classic Controller works better for N64 games, but not as good as the actual N64 controller.

i think that this is a smart idea. the wii is fun but i play it at my friends house and it gets kind of annoying having to use the controllers so this is smart.
