Sonic Unleashed delayed in Japan amid quality concerns

Does this mean Japanese gamers will get an improved version? (click for more screens)

Some alarming news for American Sonic fans who own either an Xbox 360 or PS3: the official Sonic Unleashed Japan website (via Siliconera) today delayed the game on HD consoles from this month to "spring 2009," to improve the quality of the game. Nintendo Wii and PS2 dates (Dec. 18) were unaffected.

The real concern, however, is that U.S. gamers might be subject to an inferior version of the game, that is unless Sega of America follows suit and delays Sonic Unleashed on Xbox 360 and PS3 from Nov. 24 to a later time to get everything in order, as Sega Japan is looking to do.

Sega of America has yet to respond to GamePro inquires if it will delay the game as well. Keep your fingers crossed.

every damn Sonic game is glitched as hell, but I still want this one , Dark Brotherhood for the Ds was refreshing, and this Sonic looks promising , I hope they fix whatever problems they have though

It might be a good sign that they are actually delaying a game to fix it's problems. That, or this one had so many issues that it will still be released glitchy after being "fixed". In all honesty, I am no longer excited about this game; not enough 2.5D gameplay.
