Rare to fix Banjo-Kazooie after all

What was originally deemed as "too expensive" to fix, Rare will now enlarge the tiny subtitles plaguing SDTV owners of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

"It has come to our attention that people are experiencing subtitle readability issues with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts on Standard Definition TVs," Rare said in a prepared statement released Saturday. "We would like to assure you that contrary to earlier reports, we are aware of the issue and currently working on a title update to be released within the next 30 days that will fix it for those with Standard Definition TVs."

You see: make a big enough fuss, and game-makers almost always listen. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts arrives on Xbox 360 tomorrow. GamePro's Will Herring awarded the game four out of five stars in his review published today, citing gorgeous visuals, a cleverly written story, and deep vehicular gameplay.

Can't they just have font size as an option? If it costs a lot to fix it, then it was programmed wrong in the first place.

I've seen this problem with so many games. Sometimes it amazes me to see problems like this one come from respected companies. It goes to show that minor issues can prove to be detrimental.

well RARE better fix the damn problem. i mean, they still have fans of the series, they gonna fuck them over? even though i don't care, since Banjo-Tooie had the same problem in a way.

you also should have an HDTV by now if you own a damn 360. thats like the regins that put 26" chrome spinner wheels on their 1986 lincol thats only worth $50

Not everyone can afford an HDTV. They aren't exactly cheap, and the economy isn't exactly in a good position for people to make big purchases or continue running up debt. Buying a $1500 or $1000 TV to play a $300 game machine on doesn't make a whole lot of financial sense.

I agree, the economy is discouraging HDTV purchases (along with everything else) makes this a bigger problem than it should be. I bet many prospected buyers are now holding off on buying that bigger screen until things get better. Nothing like blowing $1500 or more on that shiny new set just to find out by the next week that you've been laid off.

I'm waiting until the week before the Super Bowl. Always great deals on TVs.
