Xbox 360 leads all consoles in the coveted 'attach rate' category

Which console boasts the biggest attach rate? Here's a hint: It's the console that's been on the market the longest.

A new study out of Gamasutra, corroborated by research firm the NPD Group, has confirmed at least one fact about the so-called console war: If you own an Xbox 360, you probably have a lot of games.
The study focused on the "attach rate" of the three major consoles, which is an important data point for software developers when they decide where to allocate resources future games. It's also an important data point for the denizens of video game comment threads, who often use the data as part of their arguments in the aptly named "console wars."
As the graph below shows, there's a reason why Microsoft is always boasting about "attach rates" during its quarterly earnings conference calls.
If anything, the graph confirms the year head start is still helping Microsoft; and that Nintendo first party software is as strong as ever.

Kind of true, I have more games on the 360 than my PS3. Thats changing now that PS3 got some good games coming out. i have about 20 + games on 360 and 15 on PS3. No love for the Wii.

MS had the largest attach rate last gen as well and they came out later than the PS2. Coming out first is no excuse....
