Sonic Unleashed looks promising, sounds annoying

According to a leaked Japanese gameplay video that is.
The new gameplay footage, uploaded by NeoGAF, shows some impressively speedy gameplay coupled with a lot of "Ha!" and "Go!" outbursts spoken by Sonic as he collects coins. It's unclear if the repetitive dialog is exclusive to the Japanese version of the game, but at least the game looks fun.
Sonic Unleashed blends both 2D and 3D graphics and promises a return to form, according to Sega. It will be released on Nov. 18 for Wii, PS2, Xbox 360, and PS3. GamePro's latest preview of the game can be found here.

Finally, a 3D Sonic game that has an emphasis on speed! Very old school, but with some new concepts added into the mix such as air combos and different camera angles.
The only thing that troubled me was the area before the stage where Sonic was walking around talking to people. It seemed rather unnecessary, and a bit goofy. Still, as long as it's limited i'll be fine with it.
Also, I'll have to see some "Werehog" Sonic gameplay first before I think about getting this game. I believe that's going to be the thing that either makes or breaks this game.

i'm failing to see what's going to seperate this from the sonic heroes and shadow the hedgehog game in terms of mobility aside from the button sequences on extended jumps... i hope that that's just me being jaded and that sonic really does make a decent comeback

Last I heard it's coming to the 360/PS3 a bit later than the 18th. The "Go!"s concerned me too, but I wonder if they're connected to a move that was being used a lot, like that boost thing I heard got removed. The opening movie is awesome, I like that you can select the Japanese voices since English acting in Sonic games tends to be kinda cruddy. Right now it's looking like the PS3 version would be the one for me to get, rather than the Wii (I own a Wii, want a PS3).. but I will eventually be looking for GP's reviews of both, certainly..
And hey, Blake you called the rings ''coins''. Ahem.

as far as i'm concerned...I would care lessa bout the commentary..if there's a sonic game like this..that goes back to speed like THIS...I could give 2 f*cks less about the voices!

I love Sonic games. Yeah they've been crap lately but Sonic is still dope since 93

Sonic still doesn't appeal to me... it's like Mario on speed... but the gameplay is too fast, and you have to rush through everything. I'd rather take my time and explore every corner of the map, but that's not the point of this game.

Looks like every other 3D Sonic game I've played, except you get a 2D perspective for about 5 seconds every minute. When I first read about this game, I was excited because this game was supposed to go back to Sonic roots with lots of 2D gameplay. All I see is the same 3D gameplay from all the other Sonic flops with a brief camera shift. Not to mention the gameplay looks insanely linear. Sure, it's fast as hell, but speed alone and pretty graphics won't make a game good.
Needless to say I am no longer excited about this game. I'll continue to stick with Sonic's fantastic Genesis titles.

I hope there's more than one route available in each level, like the Genesis originals.
