Resident Evil 5 producer slams Wii

Masachika Kawata takes a machete to Nintendo's console, touting the graphical superiority of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as contributing to his game's snazzy looks.
Speaking with CVG, Resident Evil 5 Producer Masachika Kawata slammed Wii as unfit to run his monster of a game. "Even the title screen of this couldn't have been done on PS2 or Wii," he states.
Graphics top the reasons why Resident Evil 5 will be infecting PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Kawata also explained how audio fidelity gives those consoles an edge. "We utilize the power of the next generation consoles; particularly the sound abilities," he proclaims. "The sound effects are quite incredible."
Kawata's comments are just the latest in a long line of wordy daggers against the technical capabilities of Wii. Due to the significant differences between Nintendo's system and PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, most publishers have developed separate games specific to Wii when releasing multiplatform titles.
Does this mean Resident Evil 5 stays rooted on PS3 and Xbox 360? What do you think? After all, Dead Rising is getting butchered a Wii release.

They might release a downgraded version with motion controls for the Wii version later on.

Gotta love the old Gamepro spin all for the Sony fanboy user base that they love to cater to and only to Sony will they cater like that.. Funny how the guy says that they not only love the Wii but that they are looking into bringing more RE to the Wii, but the ONLY thing this Sony fanboy site can report on is how he says the title screen would run on PS2 or Wii, but of course lets drop the PS2 from it and focus only on the Wii.

These people are just upset that there are so many freakin' Wii consoles sold in the world, and that not a single one of them will be able to play their games, so they're left trying to sell games on the lower selling platforms. Simple business concerns, though I think these people worry way too much about the Wii.

Yeah, their really upset that they got rid of their Gamecube development kits. They are also mad that they don't make 8 track tapes. Wii is what it is, a GC with motion sensory
