Epic wants casual gamers to play Gears of War 2

In other words, show me the money!
Cliff Bleszinski isn't stupid. He understands the more people play his game, the more money he and his employer will make. So it's no surprise to hear the designer embracing casual gamers in addition to dedicated ones.
"We want casual gamers to play the game and be sucked into the universe and finish the game," Bleszinski told Reuters in an interview published Thursday. "We want them to potentially finish with a friend and become a fan of the characters and the setting."
It's unclear if any changes have been made to dumb down the final experience when it arrives on Xbox 360 next month, but our most recent preview suggests your hardcore-loving self is in good hands.

Casual gamers can go ahead and play this game because it is so damn overrated. There's no reason why this game and UT3 shouldn't have the same review score. Both have the same entertainment value.

This game is going to be awesome, I can't wait. I'll be picking this up over R2 (which I'll still eventually get).

Booooo! Go and play Wii Music you pansy! Every combat game pretty much has the same concept, point and shoot.

Well if the rest of the people wanted to play GoW2, they should have bought a 360. If I wanted to play any Mario related game, I know I would have to buy a Wii. So whats the big deal? If every game came out on every console ,there would be a need for so many different console.

GoW2 (or GoW) is not the type of game that "casual" gamers should play. There's way more blood, gore, and cursing than a lot of other games in the same genre (Halo, COD, etc.) Yes, you can bring down the gore and language factor, but that's what makes the game fun. If you think you have to turn that off, then you shouldn't be playing the game to begin with. After all, the Xbox 360 is a hardcore gaming console, not a Wii.
