Alan Wake rises from the dead, new trailer released

Obscure Xbox 360 game sees its first official trailer in more than two years.

It's alive.

In case you've forgotten, Microsoft will (someday) publish a game for Xbox 360 called Alan Wake, a "psychological action thriller" from Remedy Entertainment, the creators of Max Payne. Today, the game breathed its first breath of life in a while, as an official cinematic trailer was unveiled to the public. The last batch of screens were released last October.

"We're working hard on Alan Wake and want to make sure it meets and exceeds the awesome potential," said Matias Myllyrinne, managing director at Remedy, in an emailed statement. "Right now, it's still time to focus, and we won't be doing constant updates on the progress." Read: it seems a release is still a ways out.

Alan Wake tells the story of a fictional horror author suffering from writer's block and insomnia, who finds himself fighting for his life with only a gun and a flashlight. When asked when the game might see the light of day, Remedy representatives have vaguely replied, "When it's done."

Like FFXIII, I'll believe that this game exists when I see it on store shelves. Until then, it's just a figment of my imagination, haha.

Nice! Looks good from a story point of view, so I hope the gameplay is just as interesting. I'm all for them taking their time though, maybe it means they truly care about this game and are really putting effort into it.
