Epic vermin narrowly escape GamePro dominance in Gears of War 2

We played Epic Games in Gears 2 a few weeks back and let the developer win so we could stay on good terms.

Epic vermin narrowly escape GamePro dominance in Gears of War 2

GamePro ventured to Epic Games headquarters in beautiful North Carolina last month for our November cover story on Gears of War 2 -- you know, that popular game with chainsaws attached to frickin' machines guns.

During our visit, we accepted a multiplayer challenge from lead designer Cliff Bleszinski and his team at Epic Games. Behold, the result of said match, in addition to our naming a few observations as to what you can expect in Gears 2 multiplayer when the game arrives on Xbox 360 next month.

The November issue of GamePro is in stores now. Expect a healthy dose of online coverage in the coming days leading up to the release of Gears 2 on Nov. 7.

Finger, I am thinking about the clone option myself. I mean I'm about to start Dead Space, and Fallout 3 is like days away. I'm screwed!

It is hard to beat them at their own game.
Very nice game.
All right who lost to a girl.

Haha wow. I winder how it feels to be beaten at your own game, like Sony did to Valve.

But yeah, this game looks freakin awesome.

One detail that got lost here is HOW CLOSE the final match was. It was literally a gigantic clusterf*ck of players all in the king of the hill zone, trying to survive long enough to score one or two more points to win. The score on the final match was like 240 to 250 or something...anyone coulda taken it!

Really really fun match though. Thanks to the guys at Epic!
