Multiple websites today are reporting that the U.S. ratings board may have let slip the unofficial announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2.
A posting at 8:34 AM this morning by NeoGAF member Shard asserted that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 had been rated "teen" by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, intended for release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PS2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was released previously for Dreamcast in 2000.
Both 1UP and Joystiq then followed with reports featuring screen grabs of the purported listing that no longer exists in the ESRB database (as of 12:15 PM PST).
Lending further credibility to the purported ESRB listing is a second screen grab, one that may have been taken from PartnerNet, Microsoft's closed developer version of Xbox Live. If a reality, the image would imply that a new Marvel vs. Capcom 2 would support online play.
I wouldn't bet money on the release, as a seemingly de-listed ESRB rating and unverified web image is hardly confirmation. Just know that worlds are colliding.

They should make this available now. Especially with Street fighter 4 coming out soon.

I do believe this is the Second Coming of Capcom, as my Capcom bible assured me.

its already out on the ps2 and has been for a long time and the xbox as well which might mean a rerelease because the game is so rare and i could see it hitting the online market for ps3 and 360...but i would still rather see marvel vs capcom 3

MvC3 will not happen, Sega owns the Marvel rights right now. I hope its a DL so I can just put away my copies of MvsC2.

Slow news day? THis doesn't really matter to be because I am not a parent and could care less what a game is rated.

I had Marvel vs Capcom 2 on my dreamcast, sadly the console died 5 years ago, and I haven't played this game since... I will definately buy a HD remake of this title, however I think Marvel vs Capcom 3 would be cooler.
