E for All opens in Los Angeles

E for All turns two today

LOS ANGELES -- Although several key publishers are are absent this year, the budding consumer video game conference does have a few unreleased games on tap, namely Guitar Hero World Tour, End War, Far Cry 2, and Shaun White Snowboarding, all of which are playable. Microsoft, Electonic Arts, and Ubisoft are headlining the event.

In only its second year, E for All has been criticized for not being a press-focused event like E3 and/or for hosting fewer attendees than the Penny Arcade Expo, a gamer festival first launched in 2004 and taking place in Seattle.

"If you're a gamer, and live in the Los Angeles area, this isn't a bad place to come play games this weekend," said GamePro senior editor Sid Shuman. Stay tuned for his impressions of the above mentioned games in the coming days.

The convention, open to the public, runs from October 3-5 and costs $35 for a single day pass, $60 for two day admittance, and $75 for a three day extravaganza. A full list of exhibitors and registration info can be found here.

DISCLOSURE: E for All is put on by IDG, the parent company of GamePro.com.

Damn. I wouldn't not for those prices. That's half the price of a new game or even a full price of a game or more if you go for more then 1 day.

none of these game conventions happen in NYC those prices are not bad when you have a chance to play unreleased game.

it would be nice to go. I wonder how it differs from the other shows inside.
far cry 2 would be really nice to play.

E4ALL is terrible. If Gears of War 2 & Far Cry 2 were not present this show would be worthless.

Meh, I was planning to go but saw the exhibitor list and last years' pictures and what a letdown!! Perhaps this will get better over the years but at this moment pay 35 bucks to see this horror, no thanks!

No disrespect intended but I had the chance to experience many E3's in the past, this ain't even a shade of what it(E3) used to be, AND I WENT TO ALL E3's FOR FREE!
