Capcom doing overtime to make Resident Evil 5 look hot

In an effort to achieve greater realism, Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi says his team met with clothing manufacturers to ensure authentic in-game apparel.

'Can't see the line, can you Russ?'

"The footwear and gloves the main character wears are all based on real items," said Takeuchi, in an undated interview on Capcom's Japanese site. "We contacted the makers of those items to find out all the little details that go into making them, that way players don't have a sense of the game being completely divorced from reality."

As Takeuchi puts it, players will be able to see individual clothing fibers so that characters will breath in a more life-like fashion, presumably so the game will freak you out even more when a Zombie dog jumps through a window.

"Resident Evil 5 will occupy a unique place in the gaming world," added the veteran producer. "We are going to shock everybody."

Here's hoping it does when the game arrives on March 13, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

If that's a game play photo the game looks good. If it's just a screen shot that's no big deal.

But isn't that the reason we play games, to be devorced from reality. I don't give a shit about the characters fashion apperal, I just want action in my action game.

I don't have any doubts that this game will be good. But personally,I think these game companies need to wait a little longer before they announce a new game. The anticipation for this one is through the roof.

If they are spending time to pay attention to little details such as clothing (I really don't give a rat's ass weather or not the clothes move with the character or whatever). Just as long as the overall game works well and is amazing. Theres not much doubt in my mind that the game will be great but if they are spending time on this, they better be spending a shitload more time on the actual gameplay and content of the game.
